Calculation of river drawdown induced by over-pumping of an adjacent well.
Pumping from wells located close to streams lowers the groundwater level and reduces surface water flow within the stream. The tool estimates the river drawdown under different boundary conditions:
- a) Fully penetrating stream with no streambed resistance;
- b) Fully penetrating stream with semipervious layer;
- c) Partially penetrating stream with streambed resistance;
- d) Partially penetrating stream in an aquitard overlying a pumped aquifer.
